2023 Election: Kaduna PDP rejects election results.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Independent National Electoral Commission’s announcement of Senator Uba Sani, the nominee of the All Progressives Congress, as the state’s next governor was rejected by the Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State.
The PUNCH says that Isah Kudan of the People’s Democratic Party came in second with 719,196 votes, while Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, served as the state’s INEC Returning Commissioner.
According to Bilbis, the New Nigeria Peoples Party candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, finished in a distant fourth place with 21,405 votes, while the Labour Party’s Jonathan Asake received 58,283 votes to place third. The number of votes that were rejected was 19,114.
Felix Hyet, the state PDP chairman, however, referred to the APC victory as “daylight robbery” while speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Tuesday.
It was clear from his statement why Kaduna PDP rejects election results and feel aggrieved. He said that INEC was inconsistent in announcing results and was involved in denying the state’s citizens what they had actually voted for.
