Teams Feature Coming To Zoom

According to several trusted reports, there’s a vital Teams feature coming to Zoom. Virtual avatars have been made available in beta globally by the video conferencing service Zoom as part of its filter collection.

Zoom stated the avatars will make meetings “more flexible and enjoyable.” And allow users to “show [their] ‘virtual you'” while announcing the new feature on its blog.

The “unique and enjoyable” feature was introduced shortly after Microsoft Teams users in the Technical Access Program began receiving similar. Albeit better-looking avatars in October 2022. These avatars are evocative of those used in Meta’s Horizon Workrooms workplace metaverse.

Teams feature coming to Zoom: why?

According to Zoom’s post, avatars enable “fun activities” in the hybrid workplace, and help employees show themselves as they present. And engaged, and allow them to present “more dynamically.”

Avatars may be a good compromise for service users who prefer to avoid having their cameras on. But those who have mixed feelings about the idea of “workplace fun” may find it difficult.

The biggest collaboration technology suppliers tend to place a high focus on finding ways to make meetings more unpleasant.

TechRadar Pro claimed in December 2022 that Google Meet has approved three peculiar face filters for human consumption. Following Zoom’s own March 2022 announcement of related filters.

However, improvements in video calls might result in considerably riskier issues than embarrassing filters. Zoom said at its annual Zoomtopia event that the app would be available to “all new Tesla models soon.” TechRadar Pro reported this in November 2022.

One of the four innovations the business just unveiled was avatars for Zoom. To make setting up meetings easier, it now provides adjustable setting templates for meetings based on size and circumstance, including big meetings and classrooms, following the lead of Teams Premium.

Along with the rollout of the Q&A function, formerly restricted for webinars, to all meetings, if authorized by an administrator, threaded chats, a mainstay of Slack (and now also Google Chat), are now also available.
