Here are some election results updates coming to you as we learn them. After the election, Nigerians and civil society groups were seen on Twitter asking for the uploading of results on the commission website. These were for yesterday’s election after some pooling units had counted the votes.
One of these civil society groups was Yiaga Africa.
@YIAGA, the electoral monitoring group said it was “deeply concerned” that results had yet to be uploaded to the site. Noting that voting and counting had ended in several polling units.
“Update: Yiaga Africa is deeply concerned with the delay in uploading polling unit results for the presidential election on the INEC election result portal. As of 7pm on election day, no result was uploaded after voting and counting ended in several polling units. #NigeriaDecides2023”.
A few hours later, it was later discovered that INEC responded by uploading results on its portal.
This was done after 4,102 polling units out of 176,846 were said to be ready and were then uploaded.
The portal was designed by INEC for election results updates in the country at all levels.
